ONE Restaurant and Lounge

I had the best lunch I think I’ve had in years today. And I only have one word for it. Just one: ONE.

NO, really. That’s the word: ONE.

Here, let’s see if I can illustrate my speechlessness for you:

Seared Tuna with Avocado and Asian Vegetable Salad, sub Greens, instead

Was that not adequate enough? OH, try this ONE then:

Tomatoes 3 Ways: Marinated, Roasted & Raw (Do you see that toasted parm in there?!)

Still not good enough? Gosh, you’re hard to please:

Louisiana Crabmeat Cakes with Basil and Cabbage Slaw

Good enough? Yes? That’s what I thought you’d say.

So, reviewing the photos again, I realize that I do have a few more words than just ONE. How about exquisite? Gorgeous? Enticing? Invigorating? Refreshing? …. Perfection.

Each and every morsel was like music on my taste buds, with every tang and twinge more accentuating than before. Though I am not a huge grapefruit fan, I adore citrus anything, and the dressing on the tuna certainly takes the cake. Speaking of cake, I hear that Scotty makes a mean strawberry shortcake. We took a rain check on dessert.

I’ve probably been to ONE a few handfuls of times, and each time I go, I am pleasantly surprised at the combination of lightness of the fare with the extraordinary flavors of a rich meal. I’m ready to go back already.

As an aside, I was privileged to share this meal with an incredible friend and Realtor, Patsy Phipps, of Tribute Real Estate. She’s an absolutely beautiful person who loves this city and has more experience than you could ever dare shake a stick. She’s also a fabulous networker and has a vibrancy that no one can match. My life is truly enriched with her friendship. Perhaps you’ll think of her next time you’re looking for a home, or looking to sell.

I could go on and on, but all that I would accomplish is the delay that it will take you to contact Lee and Scotty, so tell them we sent you and make your reservations now.

Go. Do it. Yesterday.
